Pin with Canadian and British FlagsThis site tells about the 1953 Weston Canadian Girls' Tour to the UK and France, the influence it had on the participants' lives and how they all found one other again.  It honours the memories of their benefactor, Garfield Weston, and his daughter Miriam, who was the principal tour leader.  It thanks them and the Weston Family for their kindness and generosity.

Service Of Praise and Thanksgiving for the life of
MIRIAM WESTON BURNETT

What a inspirational service this was at Yorkminister Park Baptist Church on Friday afternoon, April 4th, 2008 at 4 p.m.! It was a time to pay tribute to Miss Miriam, enjoy singing some of her favourite hymns like the magnificent "Praise My Soul the King of Heaven", and hearing her pastor Rev. Dr. J. Peter Holmes, speak of visits he had held with her and her late husband Charles.....

The contributors to this site were 16 or 17 when they went to Europe in 1953 as guests of Garfield Weston.  This site has been created by and for them.  From time to time messages from the leaders of the Tour, or the families of tour alumnae. might also be posted here.  Eventually approved contributors will be able to log in and upload their own words and pictures using the freeware: Joomla.
